Miscanthus sinensis ‘Kleine Fontäne’ – Chinese Silver Grass
• Plant now to enjoy elegant reddish flower plumes from August to October, with peak flowering generally occurring during August and September. The plumes open deep red and quickly fade to a very pale, silvery colour.
Miscanthus sinensis ‘Kleine Fontäne’ is a graceful, fountain-forming ornamental grass with narrow green leaves marked by a distinctive white midrib. Its upright yet gently arching habit makes it ideal for mixed borders, prairie planting and contemporary gardens, adding height and movement without becoming too bulky.
Free-flowering and highly architectural, this cultivar produces spectacular fluffy flower heads that catch the light beautifully as they mature. The foliage turns golden-straw in autumn, while the flower plumes remain attractive well into winter, providing valuable seasonal structure.
