Stipa gigantea is a large, evergreen ornamental grass forming bold clumps of arching, grey-green foliage. In early summer, towering stems rise well above the leaves, carrying large, shimmering golden oat-like flower heads that catch the light beautifully and sway gracefully in the breeze.
One of the most architectural ornamental grasses, this long-lived, drought-tolerant perennial provides height, movement, and year-round structure in mixed borders, gravel gardens, and prairie-style planting.
