Senecio polyodon subsp. subglaber is a distinctive, long-flowering perennial forming an upright, branching clump of fresh green foliage topped with numerous small, vivid pink-purple daisy flowers. Its airy habit and strong colour make it particularly effective in mixed borders, naturalistic planting and alongside grasses.
A relatively unusual perennial, it brings excellent late-summer colour and is particularly useful for adding a splash of vivid pink when many early-summer plants are fading. It naturally occurs in seasonally damp habitats, but performs well in ordinary garden soil provided it is not allowed to become excessively dry.
