☀️ Position:
Full sun is ideal, though it can tolerate light shade. The more sun, the better the flower show.
🌾 Soil:
Moist but well-drained soil is best. It copes with light clay, loam, or even sandy soil as long as it’s not bone-dry.
💧 Watering:
Keep it well watered during its first growing season. After that, it’s fairly drought-tolerant.
🧤 Spacing:
Space plants about 45–60 cm apart. They’ll fill out nicely and form a natural-looking drift over time.
✂️ Maintenance:
Deadhead regularly to keep flowers coming. In late autumn, leave the seed heads for birds, then cut back old stems in early spring.
🦋 Wildlife Value:
Excellent nectar source for butterflies and bees. The seed heads also attract finches and other seed-eating birds.
