Phlox paniculata ‘David’

£6.49

This award-winning variety produces tall, upright stems topped with large clusters of pure white, fragrant flowers from midsummer well into early autumn. The blooms practically glow at dusk and are a magnet for butterflies and bees.

Renowned for its mildew resistance (a common issue with older phlox varieties), ‘David’ is a strong, healthy grower that reaches around 90–120 cm in height, making it ideal for the middle or back of a border. It also works well as a cut flower, adding a fresh, clean note to summer bouquets.    Pairs well with other sun-loving perennials

🌱 Planting Tips for Phlox paniculata ‘David’

☀️ Position:
Full sun is best, though it will tolerate light shade. Good air circulation is important.

🌿 Soil:
Moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Enrich with compost before planting.

💧 Watering:
Water regularly during dry spells, especially in summer. Phlox dislikes drying out.

🧤 Spacing:
Space 45–60 cm apart. Allows airflow to help prevent mildew and encourages bushy growth.

✂️ Maintenance:
Deadhead faded blooms to encourage more flowers. Cut back stems after flowering. Divide every 3–4 years to maintain vigour.
