Nepeta kubanica, now generally treated as a synonym of Nepeta cyanea, is a large-flowered catmint forming a strong, bushy clump of aromatic green foliage. It produces unusually large, deep purple-blue flowers on tall spikes, with dark purple calyces adding extra depth to the display.

Long-flowering, drought tolerant and highly attractive to bees and butterflies, this impressive catmint is ideal for sunny borders, gravel gardens and naturalistic planting. Its slightly informal habit gives it a relaxed character, while its strong flower colour provides excellent contrast with softer grasses and pale-flowered perennials.

    Royal Mail let Peter and myself down with a poor delivery but the plant has survived. Peter was helpful throughout the process and even offered to replace the plant if necessary. However because of his sensible packaging and a bit of good luck the plant survived a heatwave and a late delivery.
