Symphyotrichum ‘Marie Ballard’

(4 customer reviews)

£5.95

A sophisticated Michaelmas daisy with soft, lavender-blue, fully double blooms that carry a gentle charm. ‘Marie Ballard’ flowers generously in early autumn, bringing a refined touch of colour to borders just as summer fades. Its upright form and tidy habit make it ideal for more structured planting schemes, while still blending naturally into informal settings.

☀️ Position:
Full sun is best, but it will tolerate light shade. Morning sun helps reduce mildew risk.

🌿 Soil:
Moist but well-drained soil is ideal. It’s adaptable to loam, clay or chalk, provided drainage is adequate.

💧 Watering:
Water regularly in dry spells, particularly during flowering. Mulching helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.

🧤 Spacing:
Allow around 45 cm between plants for good air circulation and natural clumping.

✂️ Maintenance:
Deadhead faded flowers to prolong blooming. Cut stems back to the base in late autumn or early spring.
